About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
For the lover of pure Dutch design and mid-century modern interiors: a magnificent, very extensive set of the iconic "Klei en Vuur" crockery, designed by Potterij Zaalberg (design Meindert Zaalberg, late 50s / early 60s).
This artisanal earthenware crockery is known for its beautiful, robust contrast: a matte, dark brown to lava-black exterior with a subtly speckled, semolina-colored interior. Each piece exudes pure craftsmanship and fits perfectly in a modern, Japandi, or brutalist interior.
The set consists of approximately 15 parts:
* 5 Plates (dinner) - 24 cm
* 1 large flat dish/plate - 30 cm
* 2 large Open bowls: 23 cm
* 3x Covered dish / Terrines: with the recognizable ears/wooden handles, 21 cm
* 1 sauce boat with lid and the recognizable ears/wooden handles
* 1 Open sauce boat
* 2 saucers
* 1x loose lid with 2 loose wooden handles
The original sauce spoons are still present with the sauce boats.
Condition:
The crockery is in beautiful vintage condition with minimal signs of wear consistent with its age. No major defects, the colors are still intense and matte as they should be.
