About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an atmospheric winter landscape, painted on canvas by the artist P. Franks. The work classically captures the serene silence of a snowy landscape, characterized by bare trees reflecting in a calm waterway.
The painting is executed with an impasto technique, where the paint is applied thickly, creating a tangible texture and depth in the depiction. The palette consists mainly of earthy tones, with brown, grey, and white for the snow and trees, contrasted with the blue of the sky and water. The work is signed by the artist, and the name is also mentioned on a copper-colored plaque on the dark brown wooden frame, which has a gold-colored inner edge.
The overall condition of the painting is good, in accordance with its age. The canvas is well preserved and the colors are still vibrant. The original frame contributes to the authentic and vintage character of the piece.
This work would be a refined addition to an interior with a classic, country, or rustic decor. It can serve as a focal point above a dresser, mantelpiece, or in a study, where it brings a sense of calm and natural beauty.
