Product description
Vintage white plastic side table by C&B/B&B Italia, designed by Mario Bellini. Model 4 Gatti, No. 1.
Originally part of a set of 4, this is table No. 1, also the largest of the set. Please note: this concerns a single table.
Marked on the underside with &B Italia; the letter C has been filed away.
Designed by Mario Bellini in 1967 for C&B (Cassina & Busnelli) Italia and marked as such with C&B Italia until 1973.
In the course of 1973, Cassina was bought out by Busnelli, and the C&B marking was no longer allowed to be used.
Tables that still bore the old marking were manually modified in the factory by filing away the letter C.
As a result, only the &B marking remains, and in later productions, B&B. This model is therefore a 1973 model from which the letter C has been removed.
The table is in very good condition, with some minor signs of use here and there, such as scratches and dents, mainly along the top edge. Otherwise, there are no breaks or cracks.
There are shaped notches along the top edge of the table for stacking, if sold as a complete set.
Robust in shape and weight.
