Product description
Beautiful and rare vintage ceramic floor vase from the renowned German manufacturer Scheurich Keramik.
This specific model (form number 521-38) dates from around 1959 and is an iconic example of early Mid-Century Modern / Atomic design.
The vase has a characteristic, rough 'snakeskin' texture in a refined beige/cream base tone. The geometric, incised grid decor is filled with a contrasting dark brown glaze. This minimalist, graphic pattern is currently highly sought after by interior enthusiasts and collectors of West German pottery (WGP), and is significantly rarer than the later Fat Lava vases from the 70s.
This specific model is such a design icon that it is curated and offered in the high-end segment by international high-end art galleries (such as Fins de Siècles). An absolute eye-catcher for any modern, retro or eclectic interior!
