Private sellerProduct description
1x framed and 1x unframed. The asking price is for both together.
This unique artwork is a collage, crafted by the African artist Alpheus Borge. The work is entirely composed of real butterfly wings, a technique that results in an exceptionally detailed and textured image. The composition depicts a stylized, standing figure, giving the piece a powerful and cultural appeal.
The artwork is constructed from carefully selected and treated butterfly wings on a paper background. According to the label on the back, the butterflies were collected after a natural death and prepared to permanently retain their color and structure. The collage is framed in a slender, copper-colored metal frame that complements the warm, earthy tones of the wings. The colors range from deep brown and ocher yellow to iridescent blue and green. A second collage is unframed.
The overall condition of the work is good, retaining the original vibrancy of the colors. The wings are carefully arranged and are in a stable, preserved condition, as intended by the artist. The piece testifies to a special craft and a deep respect for natural materials.
This butterfly wing Art is an intriguing object that adds a touch of authenticity and worldly Art to any interior. It fits perfectly into an eclectic or Bohemian decor, for example on a sideboard, in a bookcase, or as part of an art wall.
