Description
A special vintage milk jug / cream pitcher from the Fanfare series, designed by the renowned British industrial designer David Mellor for Walker & Hall. The pitcher dates from approximately 1960–1962 and is made of silver-plated metal.
The bottom bears the Walker & Hall marking with model number 53725. Additionally, the front bears the inscription “Schofields”, originating from the famous Schofields department store in Leeds. This pitcher was likely used within the department store's hospitality or restaurant service.
The design is typical of British mid-century modernism: sleek and functional, with a slightly tapered shape, an integrated spout, a large handle, and a practical hinged lid.
