Pierre gire (1901-1984), alias pierre d'avesn. Starting out at the age of 14, he worked for rené lalique for 10 years. During this time, he designed lalique's famous "serpent" vase and the "tourbillons" vase, two of lalique's most expensive and collected pieces. In 1926, he left rené lalique and created his own designs. His pieces were produced by the Saint-Rémy crystal works.
