This wingback armchair is a classic American piece of furniture, made of wood and upholstered in velvet. Its characteristic silhouette combines the stately form of a wingback armchair with design elements from the Chesterfield and Queen Anne styles.
The armchair is fully upholstered in an emerald green velvet fabric, enhanced by elaborate, continuous diamond tufting on the backrest and seat. The curved armrests are accented by decorative nailhead trim. The piece of furniture stands on wooden cabriole front legs, typical of the Queen Anne style. The dimensions are 80 cm in width, 65 cm in depth, and 116 cm in height, with a seat height of 40 cm. This piece was brought from the USA to Germany in the 1990s.
The overall condition of the armchair is well-maintained, and it has retained its original character. The velvet upholstery is well-preserved and shows the rich texture and color of the material. The wooden legs show a patina consistent with the age and history of the armchair.
