D3 Collective/Paul Schuitema? Vintage Design Tube Frame Armchair This Armchair might be the missing piece in the period between D3 Collective/Paul Schuitema/Gispen design. The Armchair was purchased in 1938 from Metaco and a note of this is still here. The upholstery is still original, it is not stained or torn, although the seat is worn. There is a cushion in the same fabric and this is not worn. The wooden armrests run around the chrome tube underneath. (This was a signature of Schuitema. which makes one suspect that this is the actual designer). The wood is still in very good condition, recently painted. The firmness of the seat and springs underneath are still in good condition. Chrome is also nice considering its age.
