Pierre gire (1901-1984), alias pierre d'avesn. At the age of 14, he started working at rené lalique for 10 years. During this period, he designed the famous "serpent" vase of lalique as well as the "tourbillons" vase, two of the most expensive and most collected pieces of "lalique". In 1926, he left rené lalique and created his own designs. His pieces were made by the crystal factory of Saint-Rémy.
