Beautiful large vintage Scandinavian rug. Likely produced in the 1960s. This is a traditional Swedish Röllakan rug. This is a rug with a tight, densely woven surface. This weaving technique dates back to the Viking Age. Typical of Röllakan rugs are the geometric motifs and the fact that the rug is reversible, with the exact same pattern on the underside. This contributes to the rug's durability. This Röllakan rug features beautiful brown tones that give it a typical 1960s feel. The rug is still in good condition. There are signs of wear here and there, particularly at the edges; see photos. Dimensions: Width: 202 cm. Length: 297 cm.
