Striking vintage fiber optic table lamp with a sculptural black and chrome base and an impressive fountain-like arrangement of fine optical fibres. When illuminated, the light travels through the individual fibres, creating hundreds of tiny points of light and transforming the lamp into an atmospheric light sculpture. The large radial spray gives the piece an almost ethereal, firework-like appearance, while the contrasting black and chrome base adds a distinctly Space Age aesthetic. Beautiful both switched on and off, the lamp functions as much as a decorative sculptural object as it does as a source of ambient lighting. The lamp is in good vintage condition, with signs of age and previous use to the base consistent with its vintage character.
