Product description
Beautiful and authentic Chinese jewelry box from the mid-20th century (approx. 1950–1970). This box is handcrafted from dark lacquered wood (rosewood) and richly decorated with engraved brass fittings on the corners, sides, and clasp. The top of the lid features a refined, hand-carved medallion of light green soapstone (or jade) with a traditional floral motif. When the box is opened, it reveals an atmospheric interior fully lined with a bright red Chinese silk/satin brocade with an elegantly woven motif. The interior has various compartments for storing jewelry, including special rolls for rings. A very decorative collectible that is both functional and aesthetically a real eye-catcher on a dresser or dressing table. Dimensions: height 7.5cm width 14cm depth 10cm.
