This vintage sideboard from the 1960s is from the renowned 427/A series by Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau. Manufactured in 1965, this piece combines timeless mid-century design with functionality and the craftsmanship typical of the GDR.
The white plastic handles and the curved, delicate plywood legs are characteristic of the series – clear design elements of GDR modernism. The surfaces are finished with high-quality elm veneer.
Behind two hinged doors is storage space.
The furniture series was developed by the in-house design team under the direction of Franz Ehrlich and is now considered a sought-after design classic from the GDR.
