Two Dutch mid-century lounge armchairs by P.J. Muntendam for Gebr. Jonkers, featuring a slender wooden frame and woven rattan.
Dutch post-war modernist tradition.
The high, slightly reclining back, straight armrests, and low seat give the armchairs their characteristic modernist appearance.
The chairs were originally purchased new from Gebr. Jonkers and come from the same family ownership approximately 70 years later. As a pair, they have therefore developed a beautiful, even patina.

Beautiful and very neat vintage condition. Deliberately not extensively restored to preserve the original appearance and patina. The construction is stable; the wood can be treated with nourishing furniture oil if desired. See photos for condition.
