Product description
This is a vintage secretary desk, crafted in the opulent Louis XV style. The piece of furniture is made of solid oak and displays the characteristic elegance and craftsmanship of this period. The graceful curves and detailed wood carving on the flap and drawers make it a distinctive and decorative object.
The construction consists of an upper section with a slanted flap that opens to a functional writing surface. Inside are small storage compartments for stationery. The lower section offers ample storage with three drawers and a small cabinet with a door, also featuring wood carving. The furniture stands on elegantly curved cabriole legs and is finished with ornate brass fittings that enhance its authentic appearance.
The overall condition of the secretary desk is good, in accordance with its age and use. Over the years, the wood has developed a warm patina that contributes to its authentic character. The original finish has largely been preserved, which emphasizes the historical value of the piece.
This secretary desk is a refined addition to a classic or eclectic interior. It can serve as a compact workspace in a living room, study, or hallway, adding an element of timeless French elegance to the space.
