Product description
Characterful chest of drawers from the 1950s with a clear, functional design and typical Mid-Century aesthetic. The compact body is made with a warm beech veneer and stands on a strikingly contrasting black base, which gives the furniture a calm and graphic effect.
The front is symmetrically divided into eight spacious drawers. Particularly beautiful are the continuous, slightly protruding wooden handle strips, which are fully integrated into the design and do not require additional metal handles. One of the two upper drawers has an original mortise lock with a round keyhole escutcheon. The drawers are solidly crafted and show classic wooden joints on the sides.
The combination of warm wood tone, unadorned geometry, and black base is reminiscent of high-quality Swiss and Central European office and workshop furniture from the 1950s.
Condition: Good authentic vintage condition with traces of age and use. Minor scratches, abrasions, and discolorations are present on the sides, top plate, and individual drawer fronts. The wood surface has a beautiful, even patina. The lock is present.
