Private sellerProduct description
Beautiful and striking Scheurich 'Fat Lava' vase (model 517-30) from the 70s, produced in West Germany.
This iconic model is 30 cm high and features a magnificent, high-contrast glaze: a deep dark, irregular Fat Lava top that blends into an intense, glossy fire-red band at the bottom. An absolute eye-catcher in any vintage, mid-century or modern interior.
Condition and details:
The vase is structurally and aesthetically in beautiful vintage condition. There are no signs of use, impact damage, or hairline cracks.
Note on the glaze: As can be seen in the detailed photos, there is a small, vertical glaze crack / firing flaw on the red band. This is explicitly not a crack or hairline crack that occurred later due to use, but an authentic production error (kiln flaw) from the firing process in the factory. The glaze here slightly receded during cooling in the 70s, which gives the vase its unique and lived-in vintage character. The structural integrity of the vase is completely intact.
