About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage studio glass vase by the historic English glassmaker, Royal Brierley. The piece is defined by its classic globe silhouette and a captivating iridescent surface treatment, characteristic of collectible art glass from the period.
The vase is crafted from glass, featuring a solid black interior and rim that contrasts with the exterior's complex finish. An abstract, web-like pattern is rendered in an iridescent layer that shifts through a spectrum of colours including purple, blue, and green against the dark ground. This technique ensures that each piece has a unique and dynamic appearance that changes with the light. The form is well-balanced, with a rounded body and a flared lip.
Presented in excellent vintage condition, the vase shows minimal signs of age and has been well-preserved. The integrity of the iridescent finish is intact, showcasing the quality of craftsmanship for which Royal Brierley is known. The surface remains glossy and the colours are vibrant, reflecting its history as a cherished decorative item.
As a standalone sculptural object or for displaying a small floral arrangement, this vase makes a sophisticated statement. It is well-suited for placement on a mantelpiece, console, or bookshelf, where its intricate details and shifting colours can be fully appreciated. The piece integrates seamlessly into both classic and contemporary interior design schemes.
