Superb vintage lantern-holder figurine with integrated thermometer (Richard Rohac/Walter Bosse style)
A magnificent desk sculpture or paperweight depicting a figure in the Viennese design style of the 1950s. The piece features a figure with a conical hat, holding a long stem from which a lantern suspends a working thermometer.
Design: Characteristic two-tone finish, combining a black patina (asymmetrical base and trousers) and a gold/polished metal (body, feet, and hat).
Dimensions: Maximum height 19 cm.
Inscriptions: Includes the inscription "DÉPOSÉ INTER" and the original graduated dial indicating "THERMOMETER CELSIUS".
The piece is in beautiful overall condition with a charming period patina.
Functionality: The thermometer mechanism is fully operational and responsive to temperature changes. Note: There is a small crack in the small, clear plexiglass/cylinder protecting the thermostat (visible in the photos).
Ideal for collectors of Mid-Century design, curiosities, or retro modernist pieces.
Careful shipping.
