Product description
This is an original ink drawing by artist ‘Sovereign Leslie’, a direct conceptual nod to Twiggy’s real name (Lesley Hornby) that captures the unmistakable face of 1960s style icon Twiggy. The work exudes the atmosphere of the Pop Art movement and the ‘Swinging Sixties’, an era that Twiggy helped define.
The portrait is executed in black ink on paper, using a mix of techniques. The face is built up from fine dots, a technique known as pointillism, while the clothing and hair are rendered with powerful, solid areas. This graphic approach gives the work a dynamic and contrasting appearance. It is framed in a simple white wooden frame with a passe-partout that emphasizes the black and white composition.
The drawing itself is well preserved and the artist's signature, Sovereign Leslie, is clearly visible in the lower right. The work has an authentic vintage character that matches its age. This portrait is a perfect addition to an interior with a passion for fashion, photography or Pop Art, and adds a touch of iconic style to any wall.
