Danish Just Andersen pewter saltcellar on a wooden tray, produced by Just Andersen AS in the 1940s - 1950s. The vessel is in very good vintage condition and marked with the Just. Andersen triangle. The spoon is not original. Just Andersen 1884-1943 was born in Godhavn on the island of Disko, which is located in western Greenland. His parents were inspectors and probate managers in North Greenland. Just Andersen's creative gene was obviously stimulated and developed during his childhood. Through his parents' business, he grew up with a vision of the world, and in contact with researchers and explorers who were later famous and recorded in the history of their exploration and recording of Greenland, among them the famous explorers Robert Edwin Peary and Knud Rasmussen.
