Product description
Elegant vintage pedestal ashtray dating approximately from the 1960s/1970s, crafted from creamy translucent natural stone, presumably calcite onyx / onyx marble, combined with decorative brass-tone metal fittings.
The sculptural column consists of three beautifully shaped stone sections separated by metal details. A substantial two-tier stone base supports the slender column, while the large upper ashtray displays attractive natural cream, beige and grey-brown veining.
When held against the light, parts of the stone become beautifully translucent and develop a warm glow.
A striking decorative object for a Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, eclectic or vintage interior.
Dimensions: approx. H 56.5 cm | maximum diameter approx. 15 cm.
Vintage condition with age-related signs of use and patina to the metal elements. Natural veining and colour variations are characteristic of the stone. Please see photographs for details.
No manufacturer's or material label is present; the stone is therefore described according to its visual characteristics and is believed to be calcite onyx / onyx marble.
