About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Vintage filing cabinet in oak wood, from Central Europe. Originates from mid-20th century office furniture, when this type of cabinet organized index cards and documents in offices and archives.
Pieces of this type furnished offices and libraries, combining a sliding tambour door with an interior divided into small individual drawers.
The rectangular body closes with a horizontal-slat tambour door that slides inward, revealing a bank of drawers with brass label holders.
The wood retains a warm, even tone, with the wear typical of office use visible on the pulls and the tambour mechanism.
In a contemporary office or living room, it works as a filing cabinet or storage piece, bringing the functional character of mid-century office furniture.
