Special and spacious vintage modular wardrobe system model KP21, designed by the renowned Dutch designer Cees Braakman for Pastoe. The KP21 dates from the 1960s and was designed with flexibility as a starting point: the cabinet can be easily disassembled and the interior can be arranged as desired.
This particular piece is exceptionally comprehensive and offers an enormous amount of storage space. The system features no less than 14 drawers, 4 shelves, and 4 clothes rails. Thanks to this modular construction, hanging and shelving sections can be combined and adjusted as desired. This makes the cabinet not only a beautiful piece of Dutch design but also exceptionally practical for daily use.
Characteristic of the KP21 are its sleek panel division, sliding doors, contrasting wooden frame, and square recessed handles. Despite its considerable size, the calm design ensures that the whole looks exceptionally clean and timeless.
Cees Braakman was chief designer at Pastoe in the 1950s and 1960s and played an important role in the development of Dutch post-war furniture design. His designs are characterized by simplicity, functionality, and clever constructions. In addition to well-known series such as the Berkenserie and Japanse serie, Braakman also designed flexible furniture systems, a design philosophy clearly reflected in this modular KP21.
