Product description
A rare and distinctive vintage MODISS POP IN table lamp, originally Made in Spain by Spanish lighting brand Modiss. The POP IN features an unusual and almost sculptural construction. Rather than using a conventional lamp base, it is designed to be positioned over the edge of a table, desk, cabinet or shelf. The long matt metal arm and weighted end create the balance, allowing the lamp to appear as though it is floating alongside the furniture. A striking combination of materials and colours: a matt silver-coloured metal balancing arm, dark wengé-coloured lamp body, and the original cream/caramel MODISS shade with decorative laced edging. The lamp retains several original markings: * Original MODISS® – MADE IN SPAIN label inside the shade * Original identification label: MODISS – MOD.: POPIN * MODISS emblem embossed into the metal arm * Original MODISS lampshade * E14 fitting * Max. 40W / 230V * Original European electrical markings The model has also been identified in historical documentation as the “MODISS POP IN LAMP – Sobremesa”, reference 72650. Dimensions * Overall length including arm: approx. 28 cm * Height: approx. 22 cm * Diameter at bottom of shade: approx. 12 cm * Overall dimensions: approx. 28 × 12 × 22 cm The lamp in good vintage condition with age-related signs of use consistent with its age. Please refer to the photographs for its exact condition. A distinctive and collectible piece for enthusiasts of Spanish design, vintage lighting, postmodern design and unusual 20th/early 21st-century interiors. Asking price: €225 Reasonable offers are welcome.
