Product description
A recently completely refurbished modernist side table, originally produced in the 1930s. Due to its small size, the table was primarily used at the time as a stand for a radio, a makeup table, or a drinks cabinet. When we acquired this piece, it was in very poor condition. The wooden parts were damaged, it was painted in different colors and the top of the table was covered with a sheet of formica. However, during the restoration, we found a layer of the original color so we were able to repaint the table top and the hanging drawer with the original blue paint. The steel legs have black wood stops on the bottom. The table has no labels or marks from the producer but the way it is built and the type of screws indicate that it was produced in one of the Thonet factories. Its design is quite similar to Thonet tables such as the T 29 or BS 81 type found in the company's 1934 catalog, but the exact model number or designer of this piece remains unknown to us.The table is in excellent vintage condition, all parts and accessories are original. The chrome plated tubular steel legs have a few small marks from normal wear and tear. The beechwood has been refurbished and painted blue with original paints and lacquers by a specialized restorer.
