Kempkes Meubelfabrieken 'Formule' secretary and display cabinet from the mid-century period. This characteristic piece of furniture combines an elegant silhouette with practical storage space, typical of post-war Dutch design.
Crafted from warm, richly grained wood, this cabinet consists of three functional segments. The top section features glass sliding doors, ideal for displaying books or decorative objects. The middle section folds open smoothly to reveal a full-fledged desk, complete with lighting and refined small drawers for documents. The bottom section offers spacious, enclosed storage behind two wooden doors with subtle metal handles. The original factory label from Kempkes' Meubelfabrieken N.V. in Waddinxveen is still present, confirming the authenticity of this design.
The furniture is in good, functional condition that reflects the history of the piece. Over the years, the wood has developed an authentic patina, which contributes to its warm appearance.
