Product description
For the connoisseur, design enthusiast and collector: an iconic vintage leather 2-seater sofa in exceptionally beautiful condition.
This brutalist masterpiece was designed in the 1960s by the renowned Danish designer Sven Ellekær for the Dutch quality manufacturer Coja (Culemborg).
This specific piece has a fascinating history: it was sold at the time through the exclusive distribution channels of UMS Pastoe. The original, silver-colored Pastoe foil sticker is still present and legible on the frame — a rare and official proof of this unique Dutch design history.
Characteristic Brutalist Design:
The sofa immediately stands out due to its iconic, wide armrests that grip over the robust vertical front legs like flat planks with a sleek, blind wood joint.
Exceptional condition (Rare for this age):
this piece is in absolute top condition:
• The frame: The solid wooden frame is extremely strong and has developed a beautiful, lived-in patina on the armrests over the decades, giving the sofa enormous character.
• The leather: The thick black leather cushions are completely intact, wonderfully supple and free of tears or deep scratches. The leather has a beautiful, rich appearance.
• The webbing: The original black tension straps (webbing) under the cushions are still perfectly straight, taut and structurally in perfect condition. Absolutely no sagging!
Specifications:
• Designer: Sven Ellekær (Denmark)
• Manufacturer / Distributor: Coja Culemborg / UMS Pastoe (Netherlands)
• Style: Mid-Century Modern / Brutalism / Danish Design
• Material: Solid patinated wood and high-quality tufted black leather.

A unique opportunity to acquire a guaranteed recognizable, authentic masterpiece from Dutch-Scandinavian design history.
