A vintage table lamp by the Italian manufacturer Martinelli Luce, designed by Elio Martinelli. This is the iconic model 599 'Serpente', a mid-20th century classic known for its innovative and organic form.
The lamp is made with a white lacquered metal structure and an opal white methacrylate shade. Its distinctive design includes a swivel upper arm, allowing the shade to rotate 360 degrees to direct the light as desired. The 'Serpente' was designed in 1965 and is a prime example of Italian design from the Space Age period, combining functionality and sculptural aesthetics.
This piece is in good vintage condition, with a character that matches its age. The original structure and shade have been preserved, and the lamp is fully functional. Its overall appearance testifies to an authentic and beloved design object.
With its timeless white finish and flowing lines, the Serpente lamp effortlessly fits into various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern to minimalist and contemporary. It is an elegant and functional lighting object for a desk, sideboard, or side table.
