Product description
A 1960s Marcel & Cie "Day-Date" watch with a "Base Metal" case (likely gold-plated brass) and a steel case back, a fine example of Swiss watchmaking from that era.
Dial: (3.5 cm diameter), silvered interior (3 cm), digital day markers (in English) and date.
Superb silver dial with a sunburst finish, in remarkable condition (near mint). Its cleanliness is rare for a watch over 60 years old. The silver sunburst finish is very clean, with no visible oxidation.
Complications: Day and date display (Day-Date) at 3 o'clock.
Movement: Mechanical, hand-wound, signed "Swiss Made". Swiss hand-wound movement in good working order.
Features: The inscription "Unbreakable Mainspring" and the day/date window are typical of mid-range Swiss watches intended for export (particularly to the USA) during this period.
Case: Gold finish, stainless steel case back marked "Base Metal Swiss".
Details: Raised hour markers and elegant baton hands. "Unbreakable Mainspring" inscription on the dial.
Strap: New black leather with a lizard-skin effect. Total length 24 cm.
