On the lid, a generous still life displays its fruits in all their roundness. Velvety peach, sun-drenched oranges, bright lemon, pears, and bunches of green grapes are arranged together in a composition with warm and luminous tones. The body of the box, lacquered in deep burgundy, is adorned with a frieze of golden floral motifs that runs around its entire perimeter. The contrast between the vibrancy of the lid and the understated red creates an object that is both popular and decorative. The interior shows signs of age, with oxidation visible in the photographs. Length approximately 20 cm, height approximately 8 cm. France, 1950s-1970s.
