Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of two vintage French porcelain trinket boxes, designed to hold miniature perfume bottles. These pieces exemplify the delicate artistry associated with Limoges porcelain, renowned for its quality and intricate hand-decoration.
Each box is crafted from fine white porcelain, featuring a vibrant magenta ground adorned with hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets and delicate gold gilt accents. The boxes are assembled with ornate metal mounts, and the clasp is fashioned into a small flower. Inside, each box houses a removable clear glass flacon with a textured metal screw-top lid, and the interior of the porcelain is also decorated with a small floral spray.
The overall condition of the set is excellent, showing the character and light patina consistent with vintage pieces. The hand-painted details remain vivid, and the hinged mechanisms function correctly. The maker's mark, a blue crown over crossed lines, is visible on the base of each box.
These miniature boxes are ideal for display on a dressing table, vanity, or within a vitrine of collectibles. Their classic design and detailed craftsmanship would complement a Parisian Style, Rococo, or traditional interior setting, adding a touch of antique French elegance.
