A vintage wall or ceiling lamp, manufactured in the style associated with the French ski resort Les Arcs. This type of lighting is a characteristic example of functionalist design from the mid-twentieth century, where form follows function. The design is famous for its minimalist aesthetic and the way it diffuses indirect light.
The lamp consists of a dish-shaped reflector made of white lacquered metal with a diameter of approximately 27 centimeters. In the center is the fitting, designed for a mirrored light bulb. This specific combination ensures that the light is reflected towards the dish, resulting in a soft, diffuse, and atmospheric glow on the wall or ceiling. This design, originating in the 1960s and 70s, is a classic within French modernism.
The fixture is in good vintage condition, with a character consistent with its age and use. The original white lacquer has largely been preserved, and the structure is solid. The lamp is ready for installation and retains its authentic appearance, contributing to the historical value of the object.
Thanks to its timeless and versatile design, this disc lamp is suitable for various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern and industrial to minimalist. The lamp can be used individually as a subtle accent or installed in a cluster for a more graphic and dramatic effect in a hallway, living room, or bedroom.
