LERBRUN is a sculptural vintage stool made of dark brown glazed ceramic, whose reduced form lies somewhere between a piece of furniture and an object. The massive cylindrical body is only interrupted by a small, horizontally oval opening. This functional detail serves as a handle and at the same time becomes the characteristic design element of the piece. The fully glazed surface has a deep, warm brown tone that shimmers between chocolate brown, chestnut, and dark reddish-brown depending on the light. The deliberately simple geometry and the heavy ceramic material give LERBRUN an almost architectural presence. The object functions equally well as a stool, a low side table, a plant stand, or a pedestal for selected art and design objects. Particularly interesting is the available series of a total of five pieces. Individually, the stools appear as small sculptural solitaires; as a group, however, an exceptionally strong, almost installative effect is created. The five pieces can be freely distributed in the room or staged as a coherent ensemble. The stools are in authentic vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. The glaze shows minor irregularities and traces of previous use. Slight differences in surface and color effect are typical for ceramics and emphasize the individual character of the individual pieces.
