This is an authentic vintage table lamp, shaped like a penguin. The lamp was made by Karlsruher Majolika in Germany. This charming ceramic piece is perfect as a unique bedside lamp and is a typical mid-century animal figurine.
The lamp is shaped like a stately penguin on an oval base. The ceramic surface has a beautiful, fine-grained white crackle glaze. The penguin has a glossy black head with orange and yellow details.
Karlsruher Majolika is a renowned German ceramic factory, founded in 1901. The company produced popular figurines and decorative pieces in the 1950s. They often used the popular crackle technique, making this a collector's item.
Condition: The ceramic housing is in good vintage condition. There is a minor repair on the back, which is normal for ceramics of this age. The lamp has an on/off switch and is functional.
