Product description
This is a vintage sugar and creamer set, manufactured in Japan. The set, marked 'Mizuno sei', dates from approximately 1930-1960 and is a fine example of Japanese porcelain work. The design is known as 'Phoenix Ware', characterized by its detailed blue and white decoration. The set is made of high-quality porcelain and consists of a sugar bowl with lid and a milk jug. Both pieces are decorated with a cobalt blue transfer print motif under the glaze. The central theme is the mythical phoenix bird, surrounded by stylized floral and tendril motifs covering the entire surface. The spherical silhouettes of the pot and jug are classic, elegant, and undeniably adorable! The overall condition of the tableware is exceptionally well preserved, with no visible signs of wear. The glaze has retained its original luster and the blue decoration is bright and sharp, indicating careful use over the years.
