A cast iron tetsubin 鉄瓶 (kettle).
A bold cylindrical body decorated with an embossed diaper design enclosing two cartouches. One features a crane 鶴 (tsuru) flying towards a minogame 蓑亀 (mythical turtle), while the reverse is inscribed with a poem in flowing cursive calligraphy. The lid is crowned with a pine cone-shaped knob, and the loop handle is of the kushi-type 櫛 (comb-shaped). Inscribed and dated at the back Shôwa 28 昭和二十八年, anno 1953.

In a very good original condition with minimal wear consistent with age, including some interior oxidation. It has been water-tested and show no leakage. Please refer to the photos for a detailed condition reference.
