Private sellerProduct description
The IKEA PS "Keyhole" clock, designed by Thomas Eriksson in 1995, is a distinctive piece of late twentieth-century Swedish design. Its bold silhouette and vibrant colourway make it a recognisable icon from the inaugural IKEA PS collection, which aimed to democratise high-quality contemporary design. Constructed from painted metal, the clock features a striking red finish that highlights its unique keyhole shape. The piece functions not only as a timepiece but also as a small storage cabinet, with a hinged front that opens to reveal an internal shelf. The minimalist white dial is contrasted by simple black hands, adhering to a clean, functional aesthetic. The clock remains in good overall condition, retaining its structural integrity and original character. The painted finish shows signs of age and use, which is typical for a piece of this vintage, adding to its authentic patina. This versatile object can be wall-mounted or placed on a surface, making it a functional addition to various spaces. It pairs well with both vintage and contemporary interiors, particularly those embracing postmodern or eclectic design elements.
