Product description
This highboard is an original from the 60s. The furniture consists of two components and has a high-quality finish. The surfaces have been finished with a richly textured walnut and oak veneer. Three keys are included. The upper element consists of a spacious display cabinet. It is accessed via a sliding glass door. Two glass shelves divide the storage space. Behind the large wooden sliding door on the left is further storage space with two wooden shelves. In the lower element there is a hinged door on the left and right with a drawer (left) and a shelf (right). A double door with a shelf is fitted in the middle. ➡️ History: VEB Möbelfabrik Colmnitz was one of many furniture production facilities in the GDR. Colmnitz is located in Saxony and was known for its woodworking factories. Like other VEB (state-owned enterprises) in the GDR, the Colmnitz furniture factory was state-run and specialized in the mass production of furniture to meet the housing needs of the population. The furniture produced was characterized by simple, functional designs that met the requirements of the post-war period and socialist housing construction. Furniture from Colmnitz, such as living room cabinets or other furnishings, was durable and often made from local woods. ➡️ Size: 180 cm x 51 cm x 158 cm (width x depth x height) The lower element ends at a height of 63 cm.
➡️ Condition: The piece of furniture is stable, functional and has no damage. Signs of use are present. ➡️ Reconditioning: The furniture has been thoroughly cleaned. Both furniture lids, the sides and the fronts have been refurbished. We clean and treat all other wooden surfaces intensively with specially purified linseed oil in combination with an odorless and residue-free hydrocarbon solvent. This method is recommended by restorers.
