Unique mid-century pendant lamp, probably from the Dutch manufacturer Herda and dating from the 1950s or 1960s. The lamp consists of a white plastic inner shade with a metal lid above it, covered by a smoked plastic outer shade.
What makes this lamp particularly special is that the opening in the upper shade is not exactly centered. This subtle, asymmetrical detail enhances the playful and futuristic character and gives the lamp a distinctly space-age look.
The lamp is attached to a pull cord that allows the distance between the lamp and the ceiling to be adjusted. The pull cord can be extended to approximately 150 centimeters.
Considering its age, the lamp is in very good condition. The upper shade has been polished, restoring its shine. A slight ring is still visible on the top of the shade, as shown in the photo. Unfortunately, this didn't disappear completely during polishing, but it's barely noticeable in practice.
