Product description
Beautiful decorative wall plaque in Italian majolica from Vietri sul Mare, handcrafted and hand-painted, vintage from the 1950s-1970s. Featuring a large anthropomorphic sun with an expressive face, in bright shades of yellow and orange with black details, typical of traditional productions from the Amalfi Coast. Handwritten marking on the back "Decorato a mano Vietri".
Diameter 32cm with a thickness of 3cm. No hook or back attachment, suitable support required. Very good overall condition, although there are three small original firing defects in the glaze and an old chip on the back edge that has caused a double surface crack visible on the back and slightly on the side, without affecting the overall sturdiness. A few fine natural glaze cracks are also present, very discreet. Weight approximately 2 kg.
