Product description
This is a vintage desk lamp by Elektrsvit, a classic example of industrial design from the mid-twentieth century. The piece combines a functional form with the characteristic materials of its time, resulting in a timeless and practical lighting object.
The lamp is made with a base and shade of black bakelite, an early type of plastic valued for its durability and insulating properties. A flexible metal gooseneck connects the base to the shade, allowing the light to be precisely directed. This piece was produced in the 1950s or 60s and features a new, textile-braided cord in a black and white zigzag pattern, adding a modern accent to its vintage character.
The overall condition of the lamp is good, in accordance with its age and use. A small piece is missing from the edge of the base plate, see photo. The bakelite has developed an authentic patina that contributes to the historical character of the object. The lamp is fully functional and the renewed wiring ensures safe and reliable use.
This desk lamp is an excellent addition to a desk in a home office or study. Its functional and sober design fits well within various interior styles, from industrial and vintage to eclectic and modern. The E27 LED light source is included.
