Product description
This is a vintage serving dish, manufactured by BMF and attributed to the designer Fritz Nagel. The piece uniquely combines glass and metal into a functional and decorative object. The design is a striking example of mid-20th century aesthetics, characterized by its playful yet refined form.
The dish consists of an oval glass plate that forms the body of the fish, set between a detailed metal head and tail. The silver-colored metal parts are finely crafted with scales and fins, testifying to the craftsmanship of the German manufacturer Bayerische Metallwarenfabrik (BMF). This design is representative of the Mid-Century Modern style, in which organic forms and the use of mixed materials were popular.
The object is in very good condition, consistent with its age and careful use over the years. The original luster of both the glass and the metal has been well preserved, allowing the piece to retain its authentic character. The construction is solid and all parts are original.
This fish dish is an elegant and striking accessory for the dining table or a sideboard. It is perfectly suited for serving small snacks or can serve purely as a decorative object in an interior with a fondness for vintage or Mid-Century design.
