Product description
Here is a vintage wooden sled from the East German brand Germina. This item embodies the functional design of the GDR era, combining traditional construction with practical functionality. Its classic Davos-type design and its ability to fold make it a piece that is both nostalgic and easy to store.
Manufactured in the German Democratic Republic, as indicated by the "Made in GDR" marking, this sled is constructed from robust wood with steam-bent, metal-reinforced runners. The slatted structure is designed for durability, while the metal folding mechanism demonstrates thoughtful engineering. The sled is natural wood in color. The fabric cushion is not included.
This piece is in good overall condition, retaining its original character and patina, which bear witness to its history. The wooden structure and metal components are solid, and the folding mechanism is functional.
Beyond its primary function, this Germina sled constitutes a unique Decorative Object. It fits perfectly into a chalet, rustic, or Scandinavian-style interior, whether as a small occasional bench in an entryway, as a stand for plants, or simply as a wall decoration evoking the joys of winter.
