About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
The Jonchonnet belongs to that generation of skill games that were a staple of family entertainment during the first half of the 20th century. Inheriting from ancient pick-up sticks games, it tests players' patience, precision, and dexterity, fostering a spirit of conviviality that transcended generations. This particular set comes in its original cardboard box, whose Art Deco-inspired typography and understated presentation are characteristic of its era. It is accompanied by its painted wooden sticks, its wooden ball, and its original rulebook, offering a set particularly evocative of pastimes from yesteryear. More than just a game, this set is today a true testament to the popular leisure activities of the interwar period. It will naturally find its place in a collection dedicated to antique toys, vintage board games, or as a decorative object imbued with nostalgia. The set is preserved in good condition, considering its age. The box shows some signs of age and slight wear from use, while the game components have retained all their original charm. This natural patina fully contributes to its authenticity.
