Product description
This is a vintage fused art glass dish, serving as a functional vide-poche or a standalone decorative piece. Its appeal lies in its abstract, layered composition and vibrant colour palette, characteristic of mid-century studio glasswork. Crafted from fused glass, this piece showcases a technique where different coloured glass elements are heated in a kiln until they melt and fuse together. The design features a square form with softened edges, built upon a milky white base. Concentric layers of deep blue, turquoise green, and a central pop of bright yellow create a sense of depth and visual interest. The surface has a tactile, slightly irregular texture inherent to the artisanal production process. The dish is in good vintage condition, retaining its structural integrity and colour vibrancy. The piece exhibits a fine crazing or crackle effect within the white glass, a common characteristic that develops over time in certain types of glass and adds to its authentic vintage character. This is a testament to its history and material properties. Dimensions: 20 x 20 x 2.5 cm. This versatile object is well-suited for a variety of settings. It can function as a catch-all on an entryway console, hold jewellery on a dressing table, or simply act as a colourful accent on a bookshelf or side table, complementing modern and eclectic interiors.
