About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A vintage wooden haberdashery cabinet, originally designed for a retail environment. This type of furniture, often called an apothecary or shop cabinet, combines extensive storage options with an open display area, making it a characteristic and functional object.
The cabinet is made of wood with a warm, medium-brown finish. The construction consists of a lower section with twelve deep drawers fitted with brass-colored metal handles. Above this are eight spacious, open compartments, ideal for displaying books, collectibles, or decorative items. The sleek, rectilinear design is typical of functional furniture from the mid-twentieth century.
The overall condition of the cabinet is consistent with its age and original use. The wood shows an authentic patina that contributes to the unique character of the piece. The construction is solid and offers significant storage space.
Thanks to the combination of closed and open storage, this cabinet is versatile and can be used in various interiors. The piece functions excellently as a bookcase in a living room or study, or as a unique sideboard in a dining room or spacious hallway.
