Product description
This is a vintage sauce boat by the Norwegian manufacturer Figgjo Flint, produced in the 1960s. The piece is part of the iconic 'Menu' series, designed by Hermann Bongard. The bowl is made of glazed ceramic and produced in Norway, as indicated by the bottom stamp. The design features an underglaze decoration, inspired by traditional Norwegian cross-stitch embroidery. The patterns in blue, green, and burgundy show a crowned fish, an anchor, and geometric figures along the rim. The bowl is equipped with a practical pouring spout and an open handle. The overall condition of the sauce boat is good, consistent with its age and use. The underglaze technique has ensured that the colors and pattern have remained bright and intact, contributing to the authentic character of the object. As a classic example of mid-century Scandinavian design, this sauce boat is both a functional piece of Crockery and a decorative object. It adds a touch of vintage charm to any dining table and fits well in both retro and modern interiors.
