Product description
This is a ceramic pitcher, designed by Hermann Bongard for the Norwegian manufacturer Figgjo Flint. The piece is part of the 'Menu' series, an iconic example of Scandinavian design from the 1960s.
The pitcher is made of high-quality ceramic with an underglaze decoration, which guarantees the durability and colorfastness of the design. The base color is bright white, forming a perfect canvas for the stylized, folkloric motifs in blue, green, and purple. The design, reminiscent of cross-stitch patterns, features animal figures and crowns, characteristic of Bongard's playful aesthetic.
The overall condition of the pitcher is excellent, consistent with careful use over the years. The ceramic and glaze are completely intact, without visible damage, and the colors of the decoration are still vibrant. The stamp on the bottom confirms its authenticity and origin, stating 'Menu', 'F/F Made in Norway', and 'Scandinavian Design'.
This Figgjo Flint pitcher is a charming addition to a dining table or as a decorative object in an interior with a fondness for Mid-Century or Scandinavian design. It functions both as a utilitarian item and a collector's piece representing a part of Norwegian design history.
